Welcome to our school

Freshwaters Primary Academy was formed on 1st September 2013 for children aged 3 to 11. We are part of the Burnt Mill Academy Trust which is a small co-operative trust of 7 schools - Freshwaters Primary Academy, Roydon Primary School, Cooks Spinney Primary School, Little Parndon Primary School, Burnt Mill Secondary Academy in Harlow, and Magna Carta Primary Academy and Forest Hall Secondary School in Stansted Mountfitchet.

Our school was built in 1990 as an open plan school.  We have added a few walls since then and use every bit of space in the school for learning activities.  Our pupil numbers have grown in the last few years and we hope to add some more classrooms soon to allow us to grow even further. We have a wildlife and forest area which give us plenty of learning opportunities.  We like to get outdoors as much as possible and try to teach activities from across the curriculum in one our outdoor areas.  We recently developed a specialised outdoor learning area for EYFS, who use it come rain or shine!

Every pupil and member of staff belongs to a team that they stay with for their whole time at our school.  This means pupils can make friends with children from other classes of different ages. Every week the Junior Leadership Team run team assemblies to discuss issues and make decisions on changes that make the school even better.

We have Golden Rules that help pupils to learn and be a successful member of the school community. Pupils can earn Dojo points for following the Golden Rules.  These points lead to rewards.

Freshwaters has a swimming pool on site and pupils in Year 2 swim every week.  All pupils are able to swim before they leave our school, which is a valuable life skill. The pool is also hired by different community and swimming groups when not being used by our pupils.

We hope your will find our website helpful.
